Introduction:
The Ramos T8 and T8+ CMMB are almost exactly the same, though the T8+’s CMMB receiver will only work in China.
The T8 has 4.3-inch screen, full-touch sliding technology, ultra-narrow metal frame. The T8 will support more extensive
audio and video formats: MPG, WMV, DAT, MP4, coupled with the original RMVB, AVI, FLV, most of popular video format support.
Design:
The casing is a stainless steel back with a magnesium front shell. It’s overall weight is about 280g. The touch screen
is capacitive, the ’slide’ or ’scroll’ tecnology is there, but not as sensitive as it should be. The only switch, and
other user inputs are all along the right side. From the top down: TV out - this is for video only, 5 Pin mini USB,
Micro SDHC / TF card slot, the power / rest switch, and the Headphone jack - also used for TV out for the audio side.
On the back of the T8 is where the two stereo speakers are located, and they sound very good, no distortion or crackling
at normal to high sound levels, If turned all the way up there is some.
Also, the ‘on / off’ switch, when holding the player upright looking at it, the switch will towards the bottom - if you press it down and hold it for a second, it will turn the player on or off depending what state it is in before. This is also used in the TV mode to return to the players screen. If press all the way up, this is the reset.

Touch Screen:
The T8 is a capacitive touch screen. It is sensitive to the touch, and selections are ‘double clicked’, Takes a little
getting used to as with my big fingers I ‘missed’ a few times - but soon got the hang of it.
Procesor Chip:
The Ramos T8 uses the RockChip RK2706.
External dimensions:
112×73x9.8mm
Product weight:
280g

Screen:
The T8 has a 4.3 inch screen with 260k colors and a resolution of 480X272.
The User Interface:
This player uses entire touchscreen operation, the straight-forward contact surface chart makes for convenient user
operation, the touchscreen reaction rate is also good. Touch Panel design, so that almost the entire front of the
player is the screen. Only a switch / Reset button installed in the right side of the fuselage, and TV-OUT interface,
USB port, TF expansion and headphone jacks.
The GUI:
T8 menu design is relatively good, 2 rows to 4 columns graphical menu, That are : music, video, photo, record along
the top row. The second row: Ebook, Other Function, explorer, and settings. The main item on the right is the calendar,
the clock is in the upper left corner of the screen. Under the Desktop settings, there are 7 different themes / or
desk as it calls them.

Audio:
Music format: MP3, WMA, FLAC, AAC, APE, OGG, WAV.
The T8 has Built-in seven kinds of sound effects, divided into: normal, rock, pop, classical, bass, jazz and my
sound - which is a customizable EQ, sound effects in addition to Microsoft PlayFX here also divided into three,
namely MS3D, MSBAS, MSLEQ. With the MicroSoft PlayFX the sound is very good, even the Bass sounds right. The Music player
interface can display the lyrics or the spectrum, the replacement player mode, and can adjust audio settings.
Audio players controls are at the bottom of the main interface. Does support ID3 tags, lyrics, and can sort by: artists
title, favorite and album.
Video:
Video frequency formats: MPEG4, AVI, RM/RMVB, MPG, WMV, DAT, MP4, DIVX, FLV, 3GP.
I had no problems playing any of
these types of files, they all work and play very well. However, as with most of the players I have had, FLV format
that is over 480X320 does play very well, but does not support REW, FWD, Pause - and most of the time players need
to be reset to exit these.
Photos:
Picture format JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG. Can be displayed either in a list or as thumbnails. Picture can be rotated
left or right, zoomed in or out, and pan also works for those images larger then the screen size. I have found that
images can not be made into backgrounds for the different screens.
E-Book:
LRC support TXT e-book format. The font size, and color can be customized to the users likes. The E-Book has the abilty to make up to five sharing bookmarks or resume.
TV-OUT:
T8 because the TV-OUT feature is only available for video output, so the menu or any other screen are not seen on the TV. Simply hold down the video player interface in the bottom left of the TV button, to turn the video output to a TV screen, sliding on the power switch of the T8, the video image to the TV / T8 switch between screen. If there is no audio line connected, sound will be played through the T8’s own speakers.
Also, the TV out seems to be in PAL. So you will need a ‘monitor’ with NO tuner for it to display right.
Voice Recording:
Sampling rate: 8K/16K MIC sound recording format : WAV
Battery:
Has a 1500mah battery that runs Approximately 28-30 hour audio use or 5 hour video use.
I played two movies one after the other about three hours, on a full charge and it brought it down to about half.
The audio only, I left it on repeat mode for about 15 hours and only one bar of the five was missing.
Also about charging this….The USB will charge the battery, but it is very slow. I had mine plugged into the PC for about 6 hours and and only charged to half battery. I think this is due to the screen always on while connected to the PC, even if in the ’safe to remove Hardware mode’. So, I tried mu USB wall charger - about 1 1/2 hours from almost dead to full charge! With the wall charger the screen shut off after about 20 seconds.
USB:
2.0 High Speed connection.
HeadPhone jack:
Standard 3.5mm Also the only way to turn of the external stereo speakers is to have the headphones
or the TV audio pluged in.
Other Features :
FM Radio:
None
Games:
None
Clock:
Upper left corner. 24 hr format. Set from the ‘other Functions’, under the calender settings.
Calendar:
Month, Year and Date, Settings allow changing of date and time.
Stop Watch:
Play, Pause, Stop, Multiple times / Laps.
Updating:
Very easy with the RockChip players, with the Ramos T8:
Make sure battery is fully charged first, dont want it to turn off during the update!
1. Copy the new FW to the root of the player - named: T8.RKW
2. Safe remove from PC.
3. Disconnect from USB cord.
4. Go into settings, then to Update.
5. It will then show a progress bar, and when finished re-start with the New FW being used.
Conclusion:
My first impressions of the Ramos T8, was WOW! Thats a big screen. The screen quality is very good, very bright.
The fact that the screen is pretty much the entire front of the player with no buttons, make this a very good
choice for video’s and movie watching. The RockChip processor is also far more ‘louder’ then any of the Ingenics
Chipped players that I have. On my vx777 With headphones I listen to music at about 15, and movies at about 18.
With the T8, Music I have it set at 7, and movies at about 10 - sound level goes up to 32. The Ramos T8 Has very
good sound qualities.
The Cons:
I have found that if the player is used for a long time, it will get ‘warm’ to the touch on the back, but this
does not affect the normal use of T8. I ‘used’ it for about 25 hours without shutting it off just to see how warm
it got and to test it’s stability. Like a Laptop the battery - located on the back between the speakers - gets warm, but not so warm that it can be touched or held.
And though it will charge via the USB on the PC, I recommend using a wall charger for it.
Also, the touch screen still needs some work, it is responsive, but not like the Teclast T50 or the IPhones for
the scroll screen functions. I did do this review with FW 2.0 installed.
Found another thing too - may help with the touch screen for others. It ’seemed’ that it was ‘off’ just a little bit…WHere the smaller Icons for controls are on the bottom. So, I went to the re-calibrate screen and ‘played’ a little with it. Found that if I instead of pressing exactly on the cross’s…that if I ‘touched’ just a little above them, that the screen responded a lot better and the smaller icons at bottom were much easier to use!

Introduction:
Ainol is very well-known for their very good quality players and the fact they are using LTPS screens very
frequently. The Ainol V3000 is no exception, very compact yet having a very good screen, a large internal
memory, and a few new features, the V3000 is surely one of the best. It uses a chip
not used very often in players, the RockChip RK2708, though slightly more powerful than the RK2706.
Design:
Simple but attractive design, low-profile without any flashy colors, it would fit in anyone’s tastes. The buttons
on top are discreet, only the small speakers grills on the front are silver-colored.
Screen:
This player is where it shines the most, the screen is a big 4.3 inches LTPS screens, able to display 16
millions colors, with a maximum resolution of 800×480. While the screen is big, the player look small. You
can also adjust the brightness of it in the Settings menu (the default 3 is bright enough though). The quality
build and quality of the screen is exceptional, thanks to Ainol’s Quality Control team!

User Interface:
The UI of this player, at first glance, you would say “wow!” first because of the screen quality, and then
because of the high resolution of it, a menu in 800×480 looks amazing, in the first minute i turned it on, i
thought this player was running some kind of Linux operating system (like Windows or Mac OS). Menu
navigation is easy, and intuitive enough, using the CH buttons to go up and down or left and right, and Vol - to
go back, and Mode as the “Enter” button, if you hold this button, it will take you back to the main menu.
Play/Pause button is to play and pause music, but also to power the player On or Off (to turn the player on,
you have to turn On the switch, on the left of the player). I think this act as a security switch so you don’t turn
the player on by accident. The V3000 also have a Mini SD card slot for extra memory.
The GUI:
The Graphic User Interface is great, simple, but very well-made, the main menu is composed of the
background you wish to put there (the default backgrounds are fantastic!) and the different menu choices at
the bottom, where you navigate around with the buttons.
Audio:
The audio on the Ainol V3000 is great, It is unknown if it uses the Wolfson WM8987, but it does uses the
Microsoft PlayFX. It does use the ID3 tags, which i think is a good thing. Audio quality is very good, the
internal stereo speakers are good. I always recommend to have good earphones if you want the best audio
experience possible out of a player. Audio compatibility includes mp3, flac, ape, ogg, wma, acc file formats.
Video:
Video compatibility is superb, for AVI (using Xvid codec) you can play videos in 800×480, with a video
bitrate of around 800-900kbps. Videos look nice on it, but it always depend of the resolution and quality
you’re using. The V3000 supports avi, wmv, flv, rm, rmvb, mpg, asf and dat file formats.
Photos:
This player supports JPEGs, GIFs, PNGs and BMPs, it can also handle large pictures size, you can do
rotations on them as well, you can use them as backgrounds in your player.

Other Features:
-FM Radio
the FM Radio in players is a standard now.
-FM Transmitter
FM Transmitter is pretty new in players, and the V3000 is one of thefirst 4.3 inches screen player to have it. You can play musics on yourplayer and listen to it on your FM radio.
-Recording
You can record your voice or anything you want with the build-in microphone, the quality is good enough, you
can also choose Low or High Rate quality.
-Text Viewing (E-book)
You can view TXT files on this player, pretty much standard.
-TV Out
The V3000 can be played from a TV using the included cable, one end go in the headphones connector,
and the yellow end go in the Video (AV out) connector. You need Composite on your TV (standard RCA
cable connectors with Yellow, White and Red)

-Languages
I think this is important to write it here because this player supports up to 20 different languages! As far as i
can read, it supports traditional and simplified Chinese, English, French, Russian, Italian, Deutsch, Spanish,
Portuguese and more!
Accessories included:
The accessories included are the manual, small Quality Control carton, headphones, TV-out cable, 5-pins
USB cable, and a small rubber to put on the Mini-SD slot if you don’t have a Mini-SD card.
Conclusion:
The Ainol V3000 is one amazing player, almost like a work of art! You will surely be one of the many peoples
who will say “wow!” when they turn on their V3000 for the first time. Highly recommended!
As usual, i recommend you to buy a screen protector (buy a 4.3 inches player screen protector and just cut it
to fit the V3000), and since Ainol don’t include a carrying case, they are available on the AllPMP store.

Introduction:
Gemei is a very popular brand of PMPs, mostly because of their products being able to play emulated games. This new player, the X-760+, add something unusual that i’ve never seen before on players. You will find out by reading this review.
Design:
The Gemei X-760+’s design is rather simple, having a portable game system look, dark grey and black colors dominates the player, the way the Gemei logo and model number was printed on the player let us think we could use it for something else, for example vertical videos.
Screen:
This player use a 3 inches QVGA screen, able to display 16.7 millions colors, very good to watch colorful videos! The viewing angles are pretty good in general, so you shouldn’t have problem with this screen.
User Interface:
The interface for this player is composed of a D-pad on the left (4 buttons for each direction), 4 buttons for different actions (A, B, X and Triangle button), and also a silver button on top of the player for turning it on/off, and also being used as the play/pause button. There’s also a SD card slot on the right side of the player, compatible with SDHC cards.

The GUI:
The Graphic User Interface is similar to the PSP games system, but sometimes when you go back in menus, you can see the interface is very similar to the Ingenic/Chinachip series, since this player use the newer JZ4740 main chip, but with an improved GUI. Very easy to use, except for the emulators being in Chinese only
Audio:
The audio on the X-760+ is pretty good, as expected from Chinachip chips series. The compatibility include MP3, WMA, WAV, APE, FLAC and AMR formats. Also compatible with lyrics (.LRC file format). This player is equipped with 2 speakers, which mean stereo sound even without earphones!
Video:
Video compatibility is great, supporting AVI, MP4, RM/RMVB, ASF, and FLV (Flash Video) files, found on Youtube,Dailymotion, etc… I suggest to use videos from 650kbps to 800kbps of bitrate. ViDrop is a free videos converter, and a link can be found on AllPMP forum to download it.
Photos:
This player’s compatibility with pictures/photos are JPEGs, GIFs, PNGs and BMPs, it can handle large pictures size, you can do rotations on them as well, you can use them as backgrounds in your player. Note that pictures that are too big (for example 2500 x 2000) won’t work, it shows a grey color, so just be sure to shrink the pictures before.
Other Features:
-FM Radio
Radio reception doesn’t depend on the earphones, but it’s always better to listen to the radio with earphones, and others around you will probably tell you to turn it off
-Games
The X-760+ come with emulators which can play GBA games, but some more emulators can be downloaded from the official Gemei website. What surprized me is the fact Gemei made a 3D game for this PMP, a racing game where you have to drift to gain points. The controls are a bit hard, but it must be the game itself.
-Recording
You can record your own voice with the built-in microphone as well as recording the FM Radio. Recording quality is good for anyone who want to record something on-the-go.
-Text Viewing (E-book)
The player support text (TXT) files, to use as memos and anything else youdon’t want to forget.

-TV Out
The Gemei X-760+ have a TV-Out which mean you can connect this player on a TV with the included cable. This feature have 2 regions setting: N (for NTSC, 60Hz) and P (for PAL/Secam, 50Hz), so you can make it work on any composite-compatible TV in the world. There’s also a 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio you can select.
Accessories included:
The accessories included in the box are earphones, USB 5-pins cable and the TV-out cable. Other things included are the general manual with the player model and serial number on a sticker), a manual especially made for the X-760+, and a triangle-shaped paper with a stamp on the back indicating the date it was made. The only thing is a missing carrying bag. Both manuals are in Chinese, but you will find the player very easy to navigate around.

Conclusion:
The X-760+ is really good, a good 3 inches 16.7 millions colors QVGA screen, able to use emulators, a great chip (Ingenic JZ4740) with a PSP-like main interface, excellent files compatibility, 4gb internal memory with a SD/SDHC cards slot, built-in stereo speakers. For its price tag, it’s well worth your money! If you’re going to buy this player, don’t forget to get a screen protector along with it.

Introduction:
The Onda VX777 is the first player to come from Onda that has a 3.0 inch capacitive touch screen, this allows
for better screen sensitivity and better screen quality. The Onda VX777, apart from having a touch screen
interface, also allows for hi-res videos and loss less audio playback. The Onda VX777 is controled via The
capacitive touch screen, with one button on top - The power or on/off. It has a built-in speaker. The VX777
has the JZ4740 chip. Available with either 4GB or 8GB of internal flash memory. A ‘micro’ SDHC memory card
slot that can use up to 32GB of additional memory. The current firmware is version 1.0. Though there is a
‘test’ version 1.1 on the Onda web site.
Design:
The overall design is very sleek and smooth, with rounded corners. The entire unit is black in color. The
combination gives a cool elegant look. Very light and easy to carry.
Screen:
VX777 has a 3″ lattice TFT wide screen display, 262k colors, 16:9 aspect ratio, 400×240 resolution.
The screen is very bright and vibrant. With the added ‘capacitive’screen it does NOT have the ‘faded’ look like some other ‘touch’screens do.

User Interface:
Only one button is located on the top of this player - the Power button. This is the first Onda
player not to have even the volume buttons on the player. The ports are placed on the edges of the device.
Along the far right edge is where the TV out connection and the micro SDHC slot are located. Along the left
side is where the 3.5 mm headphone jack, the Reset hole, The mic, and the 5 pin mini USB connection are located.
The GUI:
The graphical interface is also very straight forward. Very like allthe other Ingenics chipped PMP’s. All of the controls are via the touchscreen. A simple touch with your finger or pen will allow access to allof the menus and sub menus.
Audio:
This player is compatible with MP3, WMA, WAV, APE and FLAC files. The sound quality is very good, and loud.
Also has the Microsoft Windows ‘Play FX’ for added sound enhancement. You can choose to play all songs or just
one folder. You can organize the play order by filename, by title, by artist or by album. You can also choose
to randomize the order if you wish. There are 7 built-in EQ settings available to choose from: Jaz, Pop, Rock,
Classic, Vocal, Treble and Bass. The EQ settings are improved over other PMP’s with the same chip as it does not
distort when set on ‘BASS’ or turned all the way up. This player also supports LRC files which allow the
synchronization of music with lyrics.

Video:
Powered by the Chinachip Ingenics JZ4740, video compatibility is superb on players with this chip set.
The VX777 supports RM/RMVB, AVI, FLV, ASF, MP4, MPG, MOV, WMA, WMV, 3GPand SWF files. Supports playback resume, on all videos (I had 4, and itcould resume on all of them.) It also can ‘zoom’ the videos as wellduring
play back, by simply pressing the screen, and going to the config settings, Choose from ‘normal’, ‘full screen’ or
‘fill box’.
Photos:
The VX777 supports JPEGs, BMPs, GIFs and PNGs. It can handle any picture size. You can zoom them to fit the
screen. VX777 shows you all the pictures in a thumbnail veiw, where you can then select one and make
it full screen. You can display photos in a slideshow, and you can also customize the background picture for
the music, radio, recording and text viewing screens. The main menu screens cannot be changed unless done
through or with a customized Firmware.
Flash Player:
Flash based videos and games are useable / veiwable on the vx777. In the SWF file format videos play very well.
Flash based games ‘load’ and are viewable, but the touch screen option is just not like the vx747 and no
interaction is possible. So Flash games that I have tried do not work….

TV-out Function:
The VX777 comes with an av able. The av cable has three ends at one side and 3.5mm jack at the another. In
the Video Playing screen, select TV and make necessary settings, finally select ‘TV Screen’ (the player
will turn the screen off). When in the TV mode, The movie screen is theonly one you can see on the TV, unlike the vx757+ where ALL of thescreens were veiwable on the TV screen. When video’s are played on theTV through the player, the quality is comparable to that of the playersscreen. The radio, picture, E-book - ALL menu and other screens lookvery clean and clear. It also has ’stereo’ when playing as well.
Touching the screen during playback will ‘pause/resume theMovie…touching the screen for a ‘few’ seconds will return it back tothe player for ‘normal’ viewing.
FM Radio:
FM radio reception comes standard on VX777. The headphones are used for the antenna. You can store up to 40
pre-programmed stations and edit your list as you prefer. I found the reception to be very good even while indoors.
Much improved reception over that of the vx 757+Â Â due to the upgraded chip I think…
Games:
VX777 also comes with 3 games built-in: Tetris, Brick and Snakes. While the vx777 has ‘touch’ screen interaction
With the games, it simply opens a touch control panel at the bottom, and the ‘buttons’ are used from the touch screen.
Voice Recording:
Again, just as VX747, and VX757 (+) the vx777 is built with an internal microphone for voice recording with
selectable recording quality to choose from. It records in wav format.
Text Viewing:
The VX777 supports TXT files. And font size and colors can be changed through the menu.
Accessories:
The Onda VX777 comes with headphones, a cleaning cloth, a standard 5-pin USB cable, the av cable
(used for the TV out) the Onda warranty card, the drivers and tools CDand the user manual (in Simplified Chinese).  Also, Onda now includes aSilicon case with this PMP!
Battery:
Onda’s specs say 850mAh Lithium battery with  18 hours listening tomusic under dark mode and 6 hours movie playback on a full charge. Ihave played about 5 hours worth of video (Different formats and withthe TV out as well), not to mention the ‘playing’ time (testing, Music, images, flash games, etc…) since I first received and fully chargedit and it still shows about half of the battery left.
Firmware:
The firmware is upgradable:
At this time Version 1.0 is on the player. There is a Version 1.1 on the Onda site that is still ‘test’ or ‘beta’, and
it claims improvments with the capacitive touch screen response times and other improvments with the player.
NOTE: Make sure your player has a good charge on the battery beforedoing the firmware upgrade. (but the whole process shouldn’t take but acouple of minutes).
The upgrade Shouldn’t erase any files, but its a good idea to back up your files before doing the upgrade.
Conclusion:
Overall, I was most impressed with the bright, clean 3 inch screen of the Onda vx777. The ‘capacitive’ touch screen
does have a very good improvment over that of the Onda vx757+ which was good to begin with. The sound quality and
level were far above my expectations as well. The TV out function with stereo, being able to not only see the
video / movie files but also ALL the screens and menus as well is very inovative - I would expect to see this on most
if not all the PMP’s with TV out that are released after this one. The only ‘con’ that I seem to have with this player
is the Firmware does not support the capacitive touch screen as well assome other PMP’s do - maybe through more firmware updates this will beremedied.
